Few details are being released about a major police presence at a single-family home Saturday in Steveston.
In the early evening, residents on Steveston Highway – west of No. 1 Road and close to the Sixth Avenue intersection – were alarmed to see more than a dozen marked and unmarked police vehicles arrive.
According to eye witnesses, three people were taken away in handcuffs, while the residence in questions was cordoned off by police tape.
However, Richmond RCMP said it wasn’t in a position to divulge any details of the incident due to the investigation being “fluid and dynamic.”
A spokesperson for the RCMP did say that a search warrant had been executed, but that no other details could be released as it may “jeopardize ongoing police operations.”
