It's back to work this morning after the long weekend, and it's already shaping up to be a slow commute into Richmond.
Due to a mechanical issue, the counterflow lane at the Alex Fraser is not in place this morning, meaning there's only three northbound lanes open for rush hour.
While its been cleared, an earlier crash northbound on Highway 91, just before Nordel Way in Delta, is also causing delays and congestion for the bridge.
As of around 7 a.m., orthbound bridge traffic is backed up from just before Nordel Way to Ladner Trunk Road on Highway 91.
Traffic is also starting to build over at the Massey Tunnel, with northbound Highway 99 starting to back up from Highway 17.
Due to mechanical issues, the #AlexFraser Bridge Zipper Barrier System is not operational - unfortunately there is no counterflow in place for the AM commute. We are currently assessing the situation and will resolve as quickly as possible. Follow @DriveBC for updates. pic.twitter.com/Hubj60qaS7
