Richmond drivers may need to take a different route during their commute, with ongoing roadwork causing delays around the city.
Read on to see what areas will be affected, and when:
When: Until Nov. 29; Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Drivers will be stuck to one lane until the end of November as city crews install a multi-use pathway.
Where: Cambie Road west of Bargen Drive
When: Oct. 3 – Oct. 10; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A minimum single-lane westbound and two lanes eastbound will be maintained at all times as Telus works on the site.
Where: Gilley Road between Westminster Highway and Smith Crescent
When: Ongoing until Dec. 31, 2019; all times
Gilley Road will be closed to all vehicle traffic at all times during construction. Pedestrian access will be maintained along the south sidewalk. Temporary traffic signals have been installed at Westminster Highway and Smith Crescent to maintain access to the school, community centre and residential area.
Where: Southbound along 6551 Minoru Boulevard near Murdoch Avenue; Murdoch Avenue, west of Minoru Boulevard
When: Sept. 30 – Oct. 16; 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Due to roofing work at 6551 Minoru Boulevard, traffic will be limited to a single lane southbound along Minoru Boulevard during construction hours. There will also be a single lane alternating on Murdoch Avenue.
Where: Westminster Highway near Dhillon Way
When: Sept. 25 – Nov. 15; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Ocean Spray is establishing traffic control along Westminster Highway, under the East-West Connector, in order to conduct trucking operations as part of the cranberry harvesting season.
Where: 21500 block of (Old) Westminster Highway, west of Oliver Drive
When: Oct. 10; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A minimum single lane, alternating westbound and eastbound, will be maintained at all times. Work is due to cable splicing.
Where: 8400 No. 2 Road
When: Oct. 10 – Oct. 11; 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A minimum single lane in each direction on No. 2 Road will be maintained during water main construction.
