Richmond drivers may need to take a different route during their commute, with ongoing roadwork causing delays around the city.
Read on to see what areas will be affected, and when:
Where: Adjacent to 6302 No. 3 Road, between Cook and Saba roads
When: Nov. 27 – Dec. 19; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A minimum single lane in both directions, on No. 3 Road, will be maintained at all times due to construction work.
Where: 9000 block of Odlin Road, between Garden City Road and Dubbert Street
When: Nov. 27 – Dec. 13; 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Work is due to frontage civil works, including sidewalk and curb and gutter. A minimum of one lane alternating traffic will be maintained at all times.
Where: Gilley Road between Westminster Highway and Smith Crescent
When: Ongoing until Dec. 31, 2019; all times
Gilley Road will be closed to all vehicle traffic at all times during construction. Pedestrian access will be maintained along the south sidewalk. Temporary traffic signals have been installed at Westminster Highway and Smith Crescent to maintain access to the school, community centre and residential area.
Where: Granville Avenue, east of Ash Street
When: Dec. 9 – Dec. 13; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Minumum of one lane alternating will be maintained at all times due to work by Telus.
Where: Gilbert Road northbound between Westminster Highway and Elmbridge Way
When: Dec. 4 – Dec. 13; 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A minumum single lane northbound on Gilbert Road will be maintained at all times due to site excavation work.
Where: 9211 Williams Road
When: Dec. 6 and/or Dec. 9 (weekend work not permitted); 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A minimum of one lane in each direction will be maintained at all times due to gas installation work by Fortis BC. The work may only take one day, but is scheduled for a second day to account for possible delays.
Where: Alderbridge Way, west of No. 3 Road and Lansdowne, west of No. 3 Road
When: Jan. 1, 2020 – Dec. 31, 2020; 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
All lanes will be maintained, but traffic may be briefly interrupted to assist trucks as they enter and exit the site.
