The City of Richmond just launched a COVID-19 website to let residents know what city services are closed and what are still functioning.

While Richmond City Hall, community centres, arenas, libraries and other public amenities closed in order to keep the coronavirus from spreading, city staff is still offering as many services online and by phone as possible, for example, business license and dog license services.

The website lists services alphabetically with dropdown menus to show the status of the service and how to access it.

The City of Richmond had its emergency powers expanded on Thursday as the province stepped up measures to keep people from mingling and spreading the virus.

This includes enabling bylaw officers to help enforce the provincial health officer’s orders, giving council the flexibility to expedite decisions to implement of safety measures and coordinating potential use of local publicly owned facilities, like community centres, for self-isolation, testing, medical care, warehousing and distribution.
