Five teams remain tightly bunched behind defending champion Delta Blaze in the Richmond Adult Soccer Association Spring League’s First Division.
The Blaze are off to another solid start with a 3-0-1 record but parity has been the theme of the division through the first month of the season.
That was evident when Rino’s Originals and Bingers Army clashed at King George Park — a pair of sides hungry to stay intact with the frontrunners.
Rino’s opened the scoring on a somewhat controversial goal from Boris Nikic which Bingers’ thought was cleared off the line.
After seeing a penalty kick rattle off the post, Bingers salvaged a valuable point when Kerry Weyman found the back of the net midway through the second half. The result leaves the two sides, along United Nations, with five points each.
The RASA Spring League Second Division is also shaping up as a tight race with Bombastic FC leading the way at 4-0-1. Metropolitan FC are right behind them at 4-1-0. Richmond All Blacks and Vancouver Strikers are also lurking with 3-2-0 records.
