Three Richmond baseball athletes head to nationals

British Columbia versus Saskatchewan will kick off the Ray Carter Cup on Aug. 24.

Three Richmond athletes are competing in the national baseball competition this week.

Jack Bello, Aldrich Lin and Lucas Yu — athletes with the Bantam Delta Blue Jays baseball team — are representing B.C. in the Ray Carter Cup in Laval, Que. from Aug. 24 to 28.

The Ray Carter Cup is run by Baseball Canada and is set to kick off between British Columbia and Saskatchewan.

Bantam Delta Blue Jays are the defending champions of the 2022 Ray Carter Cup.

The Jays is a team in the BC Premier Baseball League and consists of players in Grades 8 and 9 from Richmond, Ladner, Tsawwassen, North Delta and Vancouver.

Prior to joining the team, the trio was at the Richmond City Baseball Association where they developed their foundation and love for baseball.
