The Richmond Sockeyes will be looking to enter the holiday break with their 10th consecutive win when the Mission Outlaws visit Minoru Arenas on Thursday at 7 p.m.
The hottest team in the Pacific Junior Hockey League rolled to a 10-5 win over the Surrey Knights last week, outshooting the hosts 62-26.
Arjun Badh led the way with five points, including a pair of goals. Tyler Paterson and Noah Wozney also scored twice. Paterson added two assists. Other goal scorers included Marcus Sihota, Andrew Kemp, Shakeel Ebrahim and captain Tyler Andrews who also had two assists. Andrews sits second in PJHL scoring with 50 points in 26 games.
The Sockeyes currently own the league’s second best record at 19-5-1-2 and enter this week 10 points back of the Delta Ice Hawks with a game in hand. After hosting Mission, they will be idle until the PJHL Winter Classic comes to Minoru Arenas for the second straight year from Jan. 5-7.
Richmond takes on Grandview Jan. 5 at 7 p.m. then face Langley two nights later.
Interim head coach Brett Reusch remains in charge behind the bench after the club parted ways with Steve Robinson prior to a 6-5 overtime win against Delta on Dec. 7.
