Defenceman Kyle Hofmann and forwards Glenn Gawdin and Ryan Wilkinson were selected following four regional tryout camps which were held across the province two weeks ago.

Under veteran head coach Russ Weber, the Islanders enjoyed a solid campaign competing in the Pacific Coast Amateur Hockey Association's top tier. Their season ended with a third round playoff loss to Semiahmoo.

The U16 camp offers the top male players in the B.C. Hockey High Performance U16 Program the unique experience of competing with the best players in their age group from across province. The objective of the program is to enhance the overall performance of athletes, coaches and officials in high level sporting events

Some notable past participants include current NHL players Brent Seabrook, Brandon McMillan and Brett Connolly.

The B.C. Cup is a jamboree style tournament where the players selected from each region are mixed together to form the eight teams. It will serve as a selection process for this summer's U16 Provincial Camp, slated for July 18-22 in Salmon Arm.

The B.C. Cup also typically draws scouts from throughout the Western Hockey League with participating players eligible for the upcoming Bantam Draft.
