The Richmond Roadrunner Pee Wee A2 lacrosse team captured the Silver Medal at the Provincial Championships in Vernon.

The Roadrunners participated in the eight-team Provincial Championship, where they had a perfect 3-0 record in the pool play.

The team beat the host North Okanagan 9-4 in the opening game, followed by an impressive 13-4 victory over a strong Abbotsford team in game two.

During the final pool play game, the team posted an exciting come-from-behind victory to a gritty Nanaimo team.

In the playoff round, the Roadrunners beat the favoured Surrey Rebels 10-8 in the semis.

In the gold medal game against Langley, the team fell back 2-0 early in the game, before taking a 3-2 lead late in the second period. However, Langley capitalized on some untimely penalties and used their superior talent to pull away to a 12-6 victory. "The boys put out a really good effort and came together at the right time," said head coach Rod Jensen. "With a few lucky breaks here and there, I think we could have taken Langley right down to the wire."
