Roadrunners enter week break as top team in Intermediate "A" league

The Richmond Roadrunners are enjoying a well-deserved week break with the best record in the B.C. Intermediate "A" Lacrosse League. The Roadrunners sit atop the 10-team circuit with an impressive 7-1 record - good enough for a four point lead.

Richmond racked up two more road victories last week, rolling to a 10-4 triumph over the Port Coquitlam Saints, then taking care of the Langley Thunder, 14-9 on Sunday.

In Port Coquitlam, the locals broke a tight game open with four unanswered goals in the final period.

Cody Nass continued his outstanding season with a six point game, including four goals. The first-year sniper currently leads the league in scoring with 40 points, including 23 goals. He also has made an impact in the B.C. Junior "A" Lacrosse League with the Delta Islanders. On Saturday, Nass had two goals and three assists in Delta's 9-8 win over the New West Salmonbellies. He now has 11 points in five games as a callup.

Braeden Jensen and Spencer Bromley also had a big outings against PoCo, each netting a hat trick and one assist. Wyatt Kinna and Tysen Stoddart also scored. Ryan Vogrig had three assists.

Jack Woodhouse had a solid outing in net, making 27 saves.

Richmond returns to action June 6 when the New West Salmonbellies visit Minoru Arena at 8 p.m.
