Richmond volleyball product inks for Thunderbirds

Former Air Attack player Elizabeth Lee signs for UBC

A Richmond volleyball product has become the first women’s volleyball signing at UBC for a decade.

Steveston resident Elizabeth Lee recently put pen to paper for the Thunderbirds, who described her as having “excellent ball control” and being an “extremely athletic jumper.”

Lee is the first Richmond-raised player to sign for the women’s volleyball program at UBC since Juliana Kaufmanis from McMath secondary.

She started her volleyball career in Grade 6 at Homma elementary, before making a name for herself playing and training with Air Attack out of the Richmond Oval for six years.

Lee, a student at Little Flower Academy in Vancouver, signed with West Vancouver club BCO for her final year of high school.

She was also recently voted as one of the top five players in B.C., has been a AAA High School Provincial All Star twice and has played for TeamBC at various levels over the years.
