Matthias Goossen has taken a big leap in the CFL Scouting Bureau's winter rankings for the 2014 CFL Draft.
The Richmond offensive lineman is now listed fifth among prospects after being 15th in the initial rankings back in September. Goossen started all 10 games as a cocaptain for the Simon Fraser University Clan this past season and was named a first team conference all-star. TSN CFL Draft analyst Dwayne
Ford sees the Vancouver College graduate, along with McGill's Laurent Duvernay-Tardif and Laval's Pierre Lavertu, as future CFL starting offensive lineman.
Two other B.C. players join Goossen in the top 15 prospects list - SFU teammate Casey Chin (No. 11) from Port Moody and Tsawwassen's Dylan Ainsworth (No. 15) who played for the Western Mustangs.
The 2014 CFL Combine will be held in Toronto March 21-23. The draft goes later this spring.
