Richmond lacrosse product returning as a U.S. champ

McMath secondary alumnus Jordan Gilles just won the National Lacrosse Championship south of the border with the Colorado Mammoth

A Richmond lacrosse product will be making a return to his hometown next month as a U.S. national champion.

McMath secondary alumnus Jordan Gilles won the 2022 National Lacrosse Association (NLL) Championship last month with the Denver-based, Colorado Mammoth lacrosse team.

Gilles, who started playing lacrosse as a mini-tyke with the Richmond Roadrunners out of Minoru Arena, was drafted by the Mammoth in 2015, where he earned a starting position on defense in his rookie year.

The recent title win was only the second time in franchise history that the Mammoth has won the title.

The defending NLL Champions, Colorado Mammoth, will be in Vancouver on town on March 25, where they will take on the Vancouver Warriors at Rogers Arena.
