The Richmond Roadrunners will host the Coquitlam Adanacs tonight in the semifinals of the West Coast Junior Lacrosse League playoffs.

The best-of-three affair got underway last night in Coquitlam and, if necessary, a third and deciding game would take place Friday back in Coquitlam. The Roadrunners (12-3-5) and Adanacs (14-1-5) finished third and second respectively during the regular season.

Richmond advanced to the final four after needing all three games to eliminate the New West Salmonbellies in the quarterfinals. The locals opened the series with an 8-4 triumph but New West stayed alive with an 8-6 overtime win. The Roadrunners then came through with a 6-4 victory last Friday at Minoru Arena.

The team is led by Connor Martyniuk who finished third in league scoring with 63 points, including 31 goals. Other top scorers include: Patrick Bull (16-18=34), Ryan Murao (11-12=23), Jesse Patterson (11-11=22) and Corey Tasaka (6-12=18).

Goaltenders Jeff Hughes and Hayden Bowering also ranked among the league leaders.

Game time is 8 p.m. at Minoru Arena. The WCJLL playoff winner will advance to the provincials slated for early next month.
