Richmond gymnasts off to Nationals in Regina

The Richmond Gymnastics Association will be wellrepresented at this week's 2012 Canadian Gymnastics Championships in Regina.

The Richmond Gymnastics Association will be wellrepresented at this week's 2012 Canadian Gymnastics Championships in Regina.

National team members Jason Scott, Joshua Stuart and Robert Watson head the local contingent that will be competing in the five day event that will feature over 1,100 athletes, coaches and officials from across the country.

Also representing the RGA in the men's artistic competition will be Vladimir Djuric, Devy Dyson, Chris Kaji and Brian Lau. All are coached by Ferenc Szabo Jr.

The women's artistic competition will include Tiana Hesmert who trains out of Club Aviva in Coquitlam.

Brittany Rogers (Flicka) is among the group of young women who are looking to cement their positions on Canada's Olympic team to London later this year. Rogers has had a strong international competitive season as she came back from a career threatening injury in 2010.

Joining Rogers is young phenom Shallon Olsen (Omega) who is looking to win her first Junior Canadian title at the age of 11.
