Richmond Roadrunners’ U13 co-ed lacrosse team won bronze in the provincials last month.

They won the bronze medal game 10-6 against Ridge Meadows with Bentley Bourne receiving the Most Valuable Player (MVP) title during BC Lacrosse Provincial Championships from July 6 to 9.

The team finished a round-robin play winning against Port Moody 15-8 and Comox Valley 11-10 with Daniel Vilner and Damian Constantinescu receiving MVP titles in the games respectively.

However, they lost against Port Coquitlam (6-10) and in the semi-finals against Mission (6-11).

Overall, the Roadrunners finished with an 8-8 record during league play.

Madeleine Lau, team manager of the Richmond Roadrunners, said it has been a “building year” for the team with six new players this season.

“The team battled hard during the provincials and came out with the bronze medal. Huge congratulations to all the members of the team,” said Lau.
