Squirt girls fastpitch team captured the gold medal at a recent tournament in Newton. The girls rolled to a 6-1 record and capped the impressive run with a 4-1 victory over the Langley X-treme in the final. The Islanders now have won a gold, silver and bronze medal in tournament play this season. The team is coached by Chris Davies, with help from assistants Troy Cooke, Tyler Gibson and Cat Wheatley.
