For the 19th consecutive year, Mike Quinn is hosting his popular youth soccer summer camps in Richmond.
The successful local coach played professionally in England and has his "C" License Coaching Certificate, as well as Levels 1 and 2 of the NCCP Theory of Coaching - having guided a number of strong teams in Richmond for nearly 40 years.
This year's camp is being offered through the City of Richmond and is endorsed by both Richmond F.C. and Richmond Girls Soccer Associations
Quinn promises participants an atmosphere of fun and sportsmanship.
There are five weeks designated for children age 4 -to-6 and 6-to-8.
“What a I do is split them into three groups — Junior, Intermediate and Senior,” explained Quinn. “Junior will be mostly 4-and-5-year-olds, Intermediate would be 5, 6, and some 7’s, while Senior would be 8 year olds with some sevens. It is based on Age size and experience.”
Sessions designate for this age group include: July 6-10 (10-to-noon), July 13-16 (9:30-noon), July 20-24 (10-to-noon), Aug. 10-14 (10-to-noon), Aug. 24-28 (10-to-noon).
Quinn also has two dates designated for 8-to-12-year-olds — July 27-31 and Aug. 17-31.
Both run from 10 a.m. to noon and also are split into three groups.
All sessions will take place at Hugh Boyd Park. Each one will conclude with a Mini World Cup Day.
