Richmond Minor Football League just wrapped up its spring flag football and cheerleading program with a BBQ and its annual Coaches vs U19 game.

The event reflected on giving back and inspiring the young athletes of the next generation, as well as acknowledging its senior players.

At the sixth, annual Coaches Cup, the U19s fought hard and won back the trophy, leaving the coaches pondering a record of 1-5.

The spring season games wrapped up the previous weekend at the BC Provincial Football Associations Provincial Flag Tournament, held in White Rock.

Richmond was well represented with 170 Richmond Raiders players on 17 teams between the ages of six and 18 of both boys and girls.

The club’s cheerleading programs continues to grow with 29 cheerleaders showcasing their performances at the wrap-up event.

It was all start again for the Raiders in a few weeks, with the summer season kicking off July 12, with more flag football for ages 6-9, tackle football for ages 10-18, and cheerleading for ages 6-18.
