After rolling off five consecutive victories, the Midget boys fastball team squared off with Fleetwood in the championship game. The hosts outhit Richmond 6-3 but stranded 12 baserunners. The end result was the Mariners coming through with a 4-1 win.

Fleetwood opened the scoring in the top of the first inning on a sacrifice fly. The Mariners wasted little time in answering, striking for a pair of runs in the bottom half of the inning on a passed ball and a sacrifice fly by Ryan Shields. A single by Jake Doyle, who got on board twice during the game, was also a key part of the inning.

Winning pitcher Ankush Thapar worked his way out of a jam in the fourth and would go on to pitch a complete game, surrendering just the one unearned run.

The Richmond roster also includes: Colyn Maricle, Dylan Knight, Jeffrey Shih, Joey Rybicky, Jordan Mezaros, Matthew Zimmerman, Sandy Doyle, Sunil Johal, Troy Wong and Tyler Makaoff.
