The Richmond teens are among 24 players selected to participate in the Team B.C. U18 female camp, slated for July 25-29 in the Okanagan city. Gentile, a defenseman, played this past season for the Fraser Valley Phantom of the B.C. Midget AAA Female Hockey League, while Leah Lum skated up front for the Richmond Midget "A" Ravens. Both helped their teams win provincial championships.

The summer development camp is considered a critical step in the players' preparation to represent B.C. at the 2012 National Under 18 Championships, slated for Nov. 7-12 in Dawson Creek.

The camp will run in conjunction with the Kazakhstan national women's team camp which will also be taking place in Salmon Arm. Kazakhstan is coming to B.C. as a guest of Hockey Canada as part of the IIHF Ambassador and Mentor Program.

The program selected mentors from the top four ranked countries in female hockey and assigned them nine other countries to help develop their program.

Following the camp, the team will come together again for a set of exhibition games in September.
