Four Richmond field lacrosse players are recipients of the Burnaby Mountain Selects' Scholar Athlete Awards.

McMath secondary students' Brad Hoffman (Boys Elite Defender), Evan Hunt (Boys Elite Midfielder) and Kieran McKay (Boys Elite Midfielder), along with McNair secondary's Chandler Bradley (Boys Elite Midfielder) are among the winners, as announced by Brent Hoskins, Head Men's Lacrosse Coach at Simon Fraser University and Executive Director of the Burnaby Mountain Lacrosse Elite Development Program.

Established in 2010, the Burnaby Mountain Selects Scholar Athlete Awards were developed to help celebrate academic achievement and onfield excellence for each scholastic year.

This year's BMS Scholar Athlete Awards recognize a program high of 85 student-athletes who competed in the fall 2011 and/or summer 2012 BMS Elite Touring Program and achieved an academic average of 80 percent or higher for the 2011-2012 school year.

This year's BMS Scholar Athletes reside from public and private schools in 26 communities across British Columbia's Lower Mainland, B.C. Coast, B.C. Interior and Washington State.

The boys will be recognized at the Maple Leaf Awards Dinner in January, an annual event that celebrates youth and collegiate field lacrosse in British Columbia.
