The Richmond Kigoos wrapped up their 60th season with an impressive performance at last weekend's Provincial Summer Swimming Championships in Kamloops.
The club earned nine individual medals and seven more in relay events, and were one of the top performing clubs in the province.
The Kigoos were led by Division 3 swimmer Fern Buckley who had a total of seven medals - including 3 individual gold medals. Buckley set two club records, including the 100 IM record that had stood since 1986.
Other key performers on the weekend included Division 2 swimmer Colin Nishi who had a silver medal in 50 freestyle and in the 50 fly.
Nick Kennedy had top eight finishes in all seven of his races, highlighted by a gold medal in 100 backstroke. He joined William Li, Josh Nygard and Joseph Yeh for a silver on the regional relay in OCat2. Li added to the medal count with a silver in the 200 IM.
Rachel Pham set a club record for Division 7 girls 100 fly on her way to a bronze medal. She then joined Caroline Do, Olivia Johnston and Liz Kennedy to set a club record in the medley relay.

-Colin Nishi in Division 2 50 fly with a time of 36.70 just beat the 2012 record of Vincent Lee (36.75).
-Fern Buckley in Division 3, 100 IM with a time of 1:15.12 broke Sarah Cherry's record of (1:15.46) from 1986. Fern also broke the 50 breaststroke record with a time of 38.30 edging out Emi Nishi's 2018 record (38.74).
-Olivia Johnston in Division 6, 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:19.65 broke Aleta Grant's record (1:19.89) set in 1984.
-Rachel Pham in Division 7 100 Fly with a time of 1:09.63 broke Laura Dee Bowley's record (1:10.76) from 1989.
-Division 4 Girls Medley Relay (Sofia Lemaire, Catherine Labao, Emi Nishi, Madeleine Farrugia) with a time of 2:11.75 broke the record of 2:17.24, set in 1987.
-Division 4 Girls Freestyle Relay (Emi Nishi, Sofia Lemaire, Madeleine Farrugla, Alex Yuill) had a time of 1:58.39 in the finals, which takes almost four seconds off of the 2017 record (2:02.02).
-Division 7 Girls Medley Relay (Caroline Do, Olivia Johnston, Rachel Pham, Liz Kennedy) with a time of 2:09.81 broke the record of 2:18.06, set in 2001.
