The Kajak's have captured the prestigious Lower Mainland Cross-Country Running Series.
Led by Captain J.J.Schmidt, the Kajaks competed in eight races, including stops in North Vancouver, South Surrey, Abbotsford, Vancouver, and Coquitlam. There were 40 teams participating.
The outcome wasn't decided until the last event at Jericho Park in Vancouver.
Individual Kajak's age group series winners were Rachel Ruus, Gihan Wickremasuriya, Steve Hosford and John Caruso. Runners-up included: Fred Pawluk and Schmidt.
Other participants contributing points to the team's first place finish were Christopher Maika, Jake Madderom, George Agnew, Stephanie Ossienbrink, Jerod Hume and Jean Michel Chevalier.
