One of Richmond’s most popular athletic coaches is calling it a day after a decade of teaching the city’s youngest athletes.
Kajaks’ Track Rascals coach Avril Douglas took her last session with the youngsters last Monday, Oct. 18.
Douglas developed the Kajaks Rascals program and was certified by BC Athletics and was told that it was the best program of its kind in B.C.
She led the program for the last 10 years and ran all the sessions with detailed training focusing on the foundations of run, jumps and throw.
According to the Kajaks, Douglas has “touched and influenced many kids, parents and coaches with her passion and dedication to the program.”
Track Rascals is the age group from six to eight years old.
