The Richmond Islanders 2003B girls rep softball team made big waves and rocked Vancouver Island at Brentwood Bay U12 Tournament May 2-3.
The girls demonstrated solid pitching and hitting throughout their round-robin victories against Cloverdale Fury 03 (10-4), Strawberry Vale (15-3) and Central Saanich 04 (15-3). They finished their day one games with a cumulative score of 40-10 and first place in the standings.
On day two, the Islanders continued their strong offence and defence into their playoff games and were rewarded with victories over Duncan (5-0), Strawberry Vale (17-0) and Cloverdale Fury 03 in their championship game rematch (9-6).
They finished the eight team tournament with an impressive cumulative score of 71-16, a 6-0 record and gold medals!
