Garrett Collier has left his coaching position at the University of Hawaii to become B.C. Athletics' Track and Field Technical Manager.

"I am very excited to be back in British Columbia and to work in the sport that gave me so many opportunities," said Collier. "I am looking forward to working alongside a very dedicated collective of community and centre based athletics coaches and doing what I can to support them, the athletes they coach and the officials who are vital to our competition programs."

Collier, who starred for the Kajaks in the 1990s, still holds club records in the discus, shot put and hammer in many age groups.

He has been working as an associate coach in Hawaii for the past nine years.
