A marquee B.C./Alberta match-up lived up to the hype at Richmond Ringette’s 23rd annual West Coast Classic.
Sunday’s U19A championship game proved to the be a thriller as ta large crowd watched the Edmonton Shock trim the hosts 2-1.
Richmond tied the game in the late going on a power play tally. However, the Shock answered soon after on a shorthanded effort then hung on to victory. The same two teams had battled to a 5-5 draw earlier in the tournament after winning their other two contests.
Richmond was looking for its third tourney win of the season.
