Langara Falcons men's basketball team is concluding a long and successful season overseas this week.

The Falcons are participating at the 2013 Kainan Basketball Tournament in Taipei, Taiwan. The team is guided by long-time Richmond high school basketball coach Paul Eberardt and have several local products in their line-up including All-Canadian guard Brody Greig (McMath) who was recently named Langara's male student athlete of the year. The Falcons went 20-1 in the regular season and finished third at the nationals.

"This is an amazing opportunity for our team to experience a different culture in an exciting part of the world," said Eberhardt. "We had an extremely successful year and it is very rewarding to both continue and wrap up our season with this incredible trip."

The Falcons opened play on Monday with a 76-71 loss to Lithuania's Vilnius Gediminas Technical University. Greig had 15 points while former Burnett standout Elliott Mason added 13.

Langara then defeated National Taiwan University 7958 behind 13 points from Palmer grad Matt Madewan and Mason. Greig had 11 assists. On Wednesday, Palmer rolled to a 99-60 triumph over National Central University from Taiwan. Mason poured in a team-high 23 points. Ranjodh Hare (Palmer) and Jeff Chu (McMath) had 12 each. Madewan added 11.
