The Red Devils capped a successful run through the 38 team playdowns with a 1-0 win over the NCUSC Xtreme Heat last Sunday at South Surrey Athletic Park.

The hotly contested cup final featured a scoreless opening half with good scoring opportunities at both ends of the field.

The Red Devils, pressured by a number of very quick opposing players, were equally dangerous attacking down either wing.

The second half started just like the first, but as it continued Richmond started to show superior play and it was in the 67th minute when Calais Morimoto found the back of the net during a goal mouth scramble.

After the goal, the Red Devils really took the game to their opponents and were unlucky not score again.

The result concluded a very successful season for the locals who were also runaway winners of their league with a comfortable 12-point advantage over their closest rival. The squad, which is run through the Richmond Girls Soccer Association, scored 50 goals throughout the season and cup play and allowed only 10 while suffering just one loss and no draws.

Two years ago, the team captured the provincial U21 championship under the name RGSA Pilots.
