Throughout June - ALS Awareness month - 88 golfers participated in the PGA of B.C. Golfathon for ALS on 34 golf courses across the province. The event, presented by the uniPHARM & Medicine Centre Pharmacies Charitable Foundation, aimed to raise awareness and funds for ALS.
Three Richmond golf courses took part in the event - Quilchena Golf and Country Club, Richmond Country Club and Mayfair Lakes Golf and Country Club - with golfers playing from sunrise to sunset. The three courses raised more than $6,700 combined for ALS patient services. Donations can still be made at www.golfathonforals.ca.
