Richmond's Summer Clarke and Jodi-Ann Robinson are among 27 players who have been invited to the Canadian women's national soccer team's upcoming year-end training and assessment camp in Vancouver.

The camp, slated for Dec. 12-20, will feature a mix of established players, returning players and youth players who will get their first call-up to a national "A" camp.

"The camp will have our Olympians as well as some new players looking to stake a claim to be part of our four-year plan towards the FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015 and Rio 2016 Women's Olympic Football Tournament," said national head coach John Herdman. "The camp will provide baseline testing as well as serve as an identification camp as we launch our new quadrennial cycle in 2013."

Among the youth movement Herman wants a closer look at is Clarke who played for Canada at the recent FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup. The Grade 12 student at RC Palmer has already signed a letter of intent to play at Louisiana State University on a full-ride scholarship in September 2013.

At just 23, Robinson was already an established player with the senior team before taking a hiatus from the program to concentrate on her studies at the University of Toronto at Scarborough. She did help the Western New York Flash capture the championship of the now folded Women's Premier Soccer League last summer.

Robinson has 50 international caps to her credit.
