In their final tune-up before the Olympic Summer Games in London, Canada's top badminton players are in action at this week's Yonex Canada Open.

The third annual tournament, which wraps up on Sunday, is showcasing national team members Toby Ng. Grace Gao, Michelle Li and Alex Li before their departure to London.

"It will be a good test for them, each of the last two years we have seen significant improvement," said Yonex tournament co-chair Darryl Yung. "This is Canada's breakout year; we're excited to have the home advantage of the Richmond Olympic Oval."

Yung is the owner of five Clear One Badminton Centres throughout North America and his Richmond location has been a training centre for Olympic players and half of Canada's National Team.

Past winners of the Yonex Canada Open have been Olympic and world champions. Players from over 20 countries will descend into the Richmond event for $50,000 in prize money at Canada's highest ranked badminton tournament.

Daily tickets and tournament passes are available at the door. For more information visit the tournament website www.canadaopen.ca.
