A Richmond Mountie en route to an emergency call early Thursday morning ended up in a ditch after narrowly avoided crashing at the intersection of Steveston Highway and Southdale Road.
Around 6:25 a.m., the officer was entering the intersection at the same time as another vehicle.
He swerved to miss the car, but, in doing so, slid on the wet roadway and into a ditch. The officer was taken to hospital with minor injuries. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
