Some drivers have been having issues dealing with black ice on Richmond's roads on Monday

There are reports of large swathes of black ice on Richmond’s roads this afternoon.

Sunday’s snowfall and today’s plummeting temperatures are perfect ingredients for the dreaded black ice.

And it appears as if there are several areas worrying Richmond drivers on Monday afternoon.

In particular, many areas on or near Knight Street are causing plenty of problems, especially the off-ramp to Bridgeport Road.

Social media on Monday afternoon was packed with people reporting some scary surfaces on the roads, including the likes of the Westminster Highway off-ramp from Highway 99 and the intersection of No. 5 and Williams roads.

The intersection of No. 5 Road and Westminster Highway has also been a spot to worry about for drivers.

More snow is forecast Monday night through to Tuesday lunchtime for Richmond and the surrounding cities.
