One person is in hospital with serious and life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Richmond early Sunday morning.
Officers responded to a call of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle, in the 8500-block of Cambie Road, around 12:30 a.m., according to Richmond RCMP.
Police say the incident is still under investigation and have not released the pedestrian’s name as they are working to locate their family members.
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is co-operating with police.
Alcohol and speed have been ruled out as contributing factors in this collision, according to Richmond RCMP.
Mounties closed down Cambie Road between Sexsmith and Brown roads Sunday morning as Richmond RCMP CCIT and ICARS processed the scene.
The roads have since been re-opened.
