Another batch of adult Compass wristbands is now available, after the last release sold out in less than two hours.
The wearable payment option was first made available last December, as the transit authority released 1,000 blue adult wristbands and 1,000 orange concession bands to gauge public interest. The response was overwhelming and led to long lineups and a quick sellout.
This time around, TransLink is releasing 10,000 adult wristbands that work the same as Compass Cards and can be used to tap in and out while traveling on transit. Just like the cards, they can be reloaded online, at a Compass vending machine, by phone or in person. They also have a $6 refundable fee.
Wristbands can be purchased at a customer service centre – either at the Stadium-Chinatown Station or at the West Coast Express Office at Waterfront Station – while supplies are still in stock.
TransLink says it will order more wristbands if demand remains high and that it’s still waiting for a delivery of concession wristbands.
