Motorists entering and leaving Richmond via Alderbridge Way are asked to find an alternate route on Tuesday evening.
According to a Twitter post, the train arms at Alderbridge Way and Shell Road are malfunctioning causing the east and west traffic lights stuck on red.
Those driving are asked to avoid the intersection and to use Westminster Highway or Cambie Street for now.
Westbound traffic on Highway 91 is backed up to Knight Street, while eastbound traffic is backed up past No. 4 Road.
