A simple traffic stop in Richmond has led to the arrest of a man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for possession of child pornography.
Geoffrey Scott Ambridge, 29, remains in custody after being stopped for a motor vehicle act infraction.
Ambridge will be transported to Calgary to appear in court on charges of possession of child pornography.
"Our road safety officers are often the first line of investigation for arrests like this one," said Richmond RCMP's Cpl. Stephanie Ashton, "They deal with so many people during their vehicle stops and they are always looking beyond the motor vehicle act."
