The Richmond Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Shop in Steveston is renowned for unearthing some incredible gems from its donation bags.
But this week, the Moncton Street store may have surpassed itself with the discovery of some extremely bizarre items.
Not least a musical lighter, a crystal mustard pot from 1871 and, wait for it, a German toy bear wearing a Maserati racing suit. You just couldn’t make it up.
Also in this week’s additions at the store are Birks sterling silver lidded vanity jars, a vintage F. Deckel German camera, sterling sugar sifter and an extremely interesting collection of paper memorabilia from Las Vegas and Reno.
