The Richmond News was a busy place long after deadline last week. The office was crammed with visitors taking in the Richmond Chamber of Commerce Business After 5 event.
They were given an inside look at the newspaper's operation and the innovative, new technology the News has that connects traditional newsprint with digital media.
Gary Hollick, publisher of the News, demonstrated For a video how to use the smartphone app Layar to tap into the realm of augmented reality where the pages, when scanned, come to life with a host of multimedia offerings ranging from website links to video clips.
The News, and its fellow publications in Glacier Media Group, were the first in North America to use Layar when it was rolled out to readers in early February. You can see more of what took place at the Business After 5 event by scanning this page with Layar.
