A car stolen in Richmond was involved in a crash in Tsawwassen last weekend.
On Friday at about 8:45 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-car collision at English Bluff Road and 12th Ave. in Tsawwassen.
A black Audi had been rear ended by a grey Honda, said Sgt. Sarah Swallow.
When police arrived on scene, they found the Honda unoccupied.
Delta police called in a helicopter and police dogs to help in the search for a suspected car thief on the run.
The driver and passenger in the Audi were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A police check showed the Honda had been stolen from Richmond on March 16 and a witness told officers he had seen a man in jeans and a dark hoodie fleeing the scene of the crash.
The K9 unit and police helicopter were called in to help in the search, but to no avail.
"Residents were asked to stay in their houses or go back inside in order that Air 1 and the K9 unit could operate without mistaking the public for the suspect," Swallow said.
Officers continue to investigate the incident.
