Like many charitable organizations, the pandemic has hit Steveston-based Wigs for Kids BC hard in terms of raising funds vital to keep it rolling along.
Today’s fundraising art show in the village is the first event for the charity in almost two years.
It’s invite-only, so to keep a close check on the numbers, but some tasty pre-bids have been filtering in to Wigs for Kids ahead of the show, being held at The Hub on Moncton Street this evening.
The charity has had several quality donations of artwork for the event, including a signed print from Richard Brodeur.
“We have had some businesses come to the plate with donations. We are so very lucky that people are so generous and supportive,” the charity’s Bev Friesen told the Richmond News.
“We have been struggling since Covid but (we’re) hoping the event will start things rolling again.”
To make a bid for a piece of art, contact Friesen at [email protected].
Wigs For Kids BC is volunteer-run with no overheads, to ensure every dollar raised goes directly to helping B.C. children with cancer and their families.
