Another senior couple has been targeted by the scam artist with a tale of woe.
In an almost identical incident to the one reported in last week's News, Hanna Rosenke and her husband were duped out of $70 by a stranger at their door.
The man, of South-Asian descent and in his 30s or early 40s, regaled the couple at their Sealord Road home in Shellmont with a story that his car had been towed and he needed to get to Annacis Island to pick up his mom.
He apparently only had $30 on him and needed another $70 to get his car back from the tow company.
As with last week's scam, the man claimed to be a near neighbour of the couple and would return the same day with any money he borrowed.
Needless to say, the man never returned after tricking the couple on Sunday, March 8 around noon.
The couple has contacted the local Block Watch and Richmond RCMP, but are angry with themselves for being tricked.
