Slippery snakes are suddenly showing up in spades in South Delta.

On Monday morning, Tsawwassen resident Jean Kay sent the Optimist a photo of a snake skin her husband found on their front lawn.

Kay said her husband Jerry found the skin Saturday morning outside their home on Jackson Way near the Beach Grove Golf Club.

She thinks it was a garter snake about 30 inches long.

“Snakes are not on my favourite creature list,” she told the Optimist. “We have never seen a snake in Tsawwassen before and I didn’t see the live snake.”

Meanwhile, Delta police are still on the hunt for a six-foot ball python named Gypsy that was last seen in a farmer’s field in Ladner.
