Richmondites trying to travel into Vancouver this morning may have noticed some chaos on the Canada Line.
According to TransLink, due to a “track issue in the King Edward (station) area,” service was significantly reduced between Langara-49th and Broadway-City Hall stations. As of 9:15 a.m., the track issue had been resolved.
#SkyTrain Canada Line track issue has been resolved. Trains resuming normal service with delays. Please allow extra time as trains return to normal spacing and frequency. ^AR

Early morning commuters entering Vancouver from Richmond had to board their train as usual, then change trains at Langara-49th station. From there, they needed to either need to wait for a single train that is travelling to Broadway-City Hall station, then take another train downtown. Alternatively, travelers could exit the station and take a “bus bridge” that is running down Cambie Street.
A bus bridge is a bus that operates and services the same stations as the train itself. Currently our bus bridge services Marine Drive Stn and all Canada Line Stations to Broadway City Hall Stn ^AR

For travelers heading towards Richmond from Vancouver, transfers were also necessary at Broadway-City Hall or Langara-49th stations.

If you avoid one thing today in #vancouver make sure it’s Langara/49 Station #CanadaLine @TransLink #SoManyPeople

Today is when I feel @TransLink is totally inaccessible! I hope there are plans to make improvements for #Deaf commuters
