Several Richmond roads still closed following heavy rainfall, flooding

Several roads across Richmond remain closed on Tuesday as the city continues to recover from heavy rains and flooding.

According to the City of Richmond, the following roads are still closed:

Northbound Williams and No. 5 Road, southbound No. 5 Road and Blundell, eastbound King Road at No. 5 Road. Traffic control is in place. Local traffic only.

Work continues to repair a sanitary failure at Gilbert and Blundell roads. According to Metro Vancouver, the issue was due to excessive rain. Traffic control is in effect and repair work is expected to wrap up “sometime tomorrow.”

Westminster Highway is closed in both directions between Garden City Road and Cooney Road.

Highway 99 northbound is closed between Blundell Road and Exit 36: Westminster Highway. Traffic is being rerouted onto Westminster Highway.
