A concert is being held at St. Alban's Anglican Church to raise money for the church's food programs.

Volunteers at the church, who make hot meals and give out food hampers, are partnering with the Richmond Singers, an all-female choir to put on the concert being on June 16.

The choir performance will be directed by Fabiana Katz and accompanied on piano by Elizabeth Oh.

Wendy Meloche, spokesperson for the St. Alban's volunteer program, said all funds will go to programs at the church that tackle food insecurity.

This includes an outreach program that serves hot meals to more than 150 people each week and a food hampers that are distributed through the Richmond School District.

"Of course, all of these programs require money to run and so we thought we would come up with a way to fundraise for them to better help the community," said Meloche.

"We knew we wanted to work with the Richmond Singers and they happily agreed to perform a fundraising concert for the St. Alban's outreach and advocacy programs."

The concert will be held on June 16 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at St. Alban's Anglican Church.

Tickets are $20 and need to be purchased prior to the concert by emailing [email protected] or calling 604-278-2770 extension 102 on Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
