Richmond residents can nominate local volunteers for Richmond’s annual Volunteers Are Stars Award.

The awards, presented by Richmond Cares, Richmond Gives (RCRG), celebrate the accomplishments and impact of volunteers in Richmond.

Nominations are accepted for the following categories:

  • honouring individual
  • group
  • youth volunteers
  • non-profit leaders

Individuals and organizations can put forth multiple nominations

“The Volunteers Are Stars Awards are an important community event,” said Ed Gavsie, president and CEO of RCRG.

“Over the past two years, volunteers have contributed so much to so many areas of community life. Even if it’s through a screen, we’re determined to recognize their efforts in a meaningful and memorable way.”

Gavsie added that the awards aren’t about “winners or losers.”

“It’s about thanking the volunteers who make our community shine. Every one of them is a star. We want to give them the spotlight they deserve.”

Winning volunteers, one in each category, will be announced during a virtual awards ceremony on April 27.

The deadline for nominations is March 18 and can be submitted online at www.rcrg.org/vas
