The public is invited to walk, rock and wheel to the annual Thompson community picnic on Friday, June 21, running from 5:45 to 8 p.m.
This free all-ages event is a kickoff to summer. Activities include bicycle registration with the RCMP’s 529 program, a kids’ zone, try-it pickleball and floor hockey, interactive community booths, children’s party activities, a bike decorating station and free hot dogs.
Holly Munn, the Chair of the Special Events Committee shares:
“At Thompson, we connect with our community through neighbourhood events, grassroots initiatives, outreach programs and services,” said Holly Munn, chair of the special events committee. “Our community picnic is a great example of this. I hope everyone will join us for this much anticipated annual event.”
Headlining the main stage is the musical vocal trio Beauty Shop Dolls and the indie rock band Renegade, with active fitness demonstrations between acts.
